Northeast Asia Economic Cooperation Forum Opens

The second Northeast Asia Economic Cooperation Forum opened on Saturday in Changchun, capital of northeastern Jilin Province.

Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi addressed the opening ceremony, saying China is willing to cooperate with countries in the northeast Asia to create a common prosperity in the region.

Wu Yi also noted the implementation of China's strategy to rejuvenate old industrial bases in northeast has created a number of opportunities for the neighboring countries in northeast Asia in terms of infrastructure construction, trade and investment.

The economic forum will conclude next Wednesday, attracting enterprises from tens of other nations, in addition to six countries of the northeast Asian region, China, Russia, Japan, the two Koreas and Mongolia.
