On September 26th, Liu Xiaoming, the new Chinese Ambassador to DPRK paid a visit to the responsible editor Choi Chil Nam of Rodong Sinmun at the seventh floor of the newspaper's building, Kim Gi Ryong, director of the DPRK Central News Agency, Cha Sung Su, Chairman of the DPRK Central Broadcasting Commission. All the hosts extended their welcome to the Ambassador Liu. And both sides conducted cordial and amicable talks.

The DPRK side stated it was the firm policy of the DPRK party and government to constantly develop and nurture the DPRK-Chinese relations of friendly cooperation. The Rodong Sinmum Agency, the DPRK Central News Agency and the DPRK Central Broadcasting Commission all had enjoyed favorable relations of friendly cooperation with the People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and both sides conducted regular friendly exchanges, constantly deepened the mutual cooperation, and as a result of such a long-term cooperation, a good working relationship and profound friendship had emerged. In future, the DPRK side would do its best to push ahead such a relationship with its Chinese counterparts.

Liu said it was the unswerving policy of the Chinese party and government to develop Chinese-DPRK relations of friendly cooperation. The Chinese side would along with the DPRK side jointly push the Chinese-DPRK relations of friendly cooperation to a new high. Liu said, friendly exchanges and cooperation between the information departments were part and parcel of the overall Chinese- DPRK relations of friendly cooperation. To further enhance the bilateral cooperation in the press field would be very meaningful to the increased understanding between the two peoples and deepening of the bilateral friendship. The Chinese side would as always devote its effort to develop the relations of friendly cooperation with the DPRK information departments so as to contribute to the traditional friendship between the two countries.
