SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's Hyundai Asan company confirmed Tuesday that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will open the Kaesong city to South Korean tourists from next month.

The DPRK will allow as many as 300 people a day to visit its border city of Kaesong everyday from Dec. 5, the company said.

Hyundai Asian, which operates the tourist program, will charge 180,000 won (193.4 U.S. dollars) per person for the one-day tour and give the DPRK side 100 U.S. dollars for each tourist.

Kaesong was the capital of the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).

Hyundai Asan said about 5,000 people have booked visits to Kaesong for December, and the number is expected to increase.
