PYONGYANG, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Kim Yong-nam, top legislator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), accepted Monday the credentials of Liu Xiaoming, the new Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, at Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang.
"It's a firm policy of the DPRK to make efforts to strengthen the traditional friendship with China," Kim said after the ceremony.
"The development of the friendship between two countries will promote the stability of Northeast Asia and the rest of the world," he said.
Kim also expressed thanks to the Chinese government for granting humanitarian aid for flood-stricken areas in the DPRK.
Ambassador Liu reiterated that the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) and the Chinese government attach great importance to the bilateral friendship and that it is their firm policy to consolidate and develop the bilateral friendship.
The Chinese side will work with the DPRK side to strengthen cooperation and continuously enrich the content of the bilateral friendship and cooperation, said Liu. Liu arrived in Pyongyang last Friday. Enditem
