On September 15h 2006, the new Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming met with Vice Presidents of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly Yang Hyong Sop and Kim Yong Dae in Pyongyang's Mansudae Assembly Hall. Both vice presidents welcomed Ambassador Liu's appointment as ambassador to the DPRK. The two sides conducted a cordial and friendly conversation.
Yang Hyong Sop stated that the DPRK-China friendship was very important, and now the relations were evolving continuously under the care of the leaders of the two countries. The DPRK party and government gave extremely great attention to the relations, and therefore, would as always develop such a relationship. Yang Hyong Sop evoked the happy memory of his leading of a delegation to visit China last July. He said that the Chinese people had scored great achievement in the socialist construction under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, and the DPRK people were pleased with the achievement of the Chinese people. He sincerely wished the Chinese people new achievements in the construction of a prosperous and rich country.
