Dear Friends,

The spring has just bid us a fond farewell. While we sense the hurried paces of summer from afar, we can almost feel the warmth in the air.  Born together with this joyous summer is the English website of the Chinese Embassy in the DPRK.  No matter where you are right now, I do hope the website of our embassy will bring you the full blessings of the summer.

The flowing Yalu River and the rolling Changbai Mountains bring China and the DPRK close.  The Chinese-Korean friendship has a long history.  Thousand years of friendly and uninterrupted exchanges between the two countries have given birth to and continue to support a profound friendship between these two countries and their peoples.  At this time in their mutual histories, both China and the DPRK are facing the historic task of building up their respective countries through efforts to enhance cooperation.  We also strive to add new dimensions to China-DPRK relations deeply rooted in friendly cooperation.  In addition, we are working hard to realize a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula and to build a Northeast Asia of lasting peace, stability and prosperity.

With our embassy website already available in Chinese and Korean, we now have constructed an English language edition that we hope will open a window through which English-speaking viewers may have a better understanding of China-DPRK relations as well as China's policy towards the DPRK and the Korean Peninsula.  We hope that our new English website can serve as an information platform enabling the English-speaking world better to appreciate the complexities of the situation on the Peninsula and in the broader region.

Dear friends, we sincerely hope that you will visit our English language website from time to time so that you can, together with us, bear witness to continuing developments in China-DPRK relations and developments within this important region.  You are encouraged to contact the Embassy by e-mail, and we will do our best to respond to your questions, comments and suggestions through this new website.
