On September 19th, 2006 Ambassador Liu Xiaoming paid a visit to Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the Central Committee of the DPRK Workers' Party at the office building of the Party International Department. Choe and Kim expressed their warm welcome to Ambassador Liu. And both sides carried out a cordial and friendly dialogue.
Choe Thae Bok said that the DPRK-China friendship had a long history and it was the unswerving policy of the DPRK party and government to consolidate and develop such a friendly and cooperative relationship. In future the DPRK side would do everything in its power to push forward such a friendly cooperation. Choe, in addition, expressed his gratitude to the Chinese party and government for the humanitarian relief material and diesel oil for autumn harvest at a time when DPRK was suffering extraordinary flood disaster. Ambassador Liu said that the China-DPRK friendship was personally forged and nurtured by the old generation of leaders in the two countries, and it was an unswerving policy of the Chinese party and government to consolidate and develop such a friendship. The Chinese side would work together with the DPRK side implement the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries in an all-round way, and do its best to move the friendly cooperation forward. Furthermore, the Chinese side would encourage departments concerned to enhance exchange with DPRK, and promote the mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. Pak Kyong Son, vice department director of the DPRK party central committee and Guan Huabing, minister counselor of the Chinese embassy, Wang Shuxia, embassy counselor were also on hand. On the same evening, vice department director Pak Kyong Son held a banquet on behalf of the Party's International Department in the Ko Ryo Hotel in honor of Ambassador Liu. |
