On September 19th, 2006 Ambassador Liu Xiaoming called on General Ju Sang Seong, minister for the People's Security at Pyongyang's Mansudae Assembly Hall. Ju extended his welcome to Ambassador Liu, and the two sides carried out an intimate and friendly chat,
Ju stated that the DPRK and China had a long tradition of friendship, and it was an unswerving position of the DPRK party and government to consolidate and develop such a relationship. The DPRK People's Security Ministry had a good cooperative relationship with the Chinese ministry of public security. The interaction and cooperation of both sides had further enhanced the friendship. In future, the DPRK side would do its best to continue moving the cooperative relations forward. Ambassador Liu said that the China-DPRK friendship was personally forged and nurtured by the old generation of leaders of the two countries, and it was an unswerving policy of the Chinese party and government to consolidate and develop these relations. The cooperation between the public security and people's defense departments of the two countries constituted an important component of the friendly cooperative relations. The Chinese side would further encourage the friendly interaction and mutually beneficial cooperation between these two departments. The Chinese side would alongside the DPRK side enforce the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries, and push the bilateral friendly cooperation to a new high. Senior Colonel Ri Sung Chol, director of the foreign affairs bureau of the DPRK People's Security Ministry and Guan Huabing, minister counselor of the Chinese embassy and others were on hand. |
