2010-03-10 16:29

Liu Hongcai, China's new ambassador to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), presented his credentials to Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall here on Monday.

Kim said the DPRK and China held various activities last year to mark the DPRK-China friendship year, which served as a good opportunity for young people in the two countries to exchange views and develop friendship.

It was the unswerving stand of the DPRK's party and government to continue to consolidate and develop the DPRK-China friendship, Kim said.

Liu said the traditional friendship between the two countries, fostered by the elder generations of revolutionaries of the two countries, is a treasure to the two peoples.

As the new ambassador to the DPRK, Liu said, he would make efforts to boost the good neighborly relations between the two counties and expand areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Liu arrived in Pyongyang on March 5.
